123, 125, 127 Maxwellton Avenue is a late 18th century cottage featuring five bays, a single storey, and an attic. The building is constructed from squared and snecked rubble with raised and painted margins, and it has timber eaves decoration on the attic dormers.

On the northwest elevation, there are entrance doors located in the second and fourth bays from the left, with single windows in the other bays. The outer bays have canted attic dormer windows, while there is a central triangular attic window. The windows have modern two-pane glazing, and there is a modern eight-pane window in the first bay from the right. The cottage has a slate roof and broad, coped stacks with cans at the gable ends.
