10 Wellington Square, Ayr

10 Wellington Square is an earlier 19th century, two-storey house with a basement and attic, forming part of a terrace. The house is constructed of painted ashlar and features banded rustication at the basement, a ground floor band course, an eaves course, a cornice, and a blocking course. The windows are architraved, with square brackets at the lower cill corners of the ground floor and cornices above the ground floor windows.

The south elevation, which is the entrance side, has a central stepped platt that oversails the basement, leading to a timber door with a segmental umbrella fanlight above. There is a single window aligned above on the first floor and a glazed timber door aligned below in the basement. Flanking single windows are present at the basement, ground, and first floors, with single dormers on the outer right and left sides at the attic.

The house features 12-pane timber sash and case windows, a grey slate roof with coped stacks, and circular cans.

The interior was not seen in 1998. The property also includes railings and a gate, with ashlar copes topped by spear-headed iron railings, and urn finials that delineate sections. A gate is located to the outer right, and boot-scrapers remain in place.
