1 Hayfield Court, Lerwick

1 Hayfield Court in Lerwick is a house dating from around 1800. It is a two-storey, three-bay structure with a rectangular plan. The walls are made of harl-pointed random rubble, featuring stugged and droved ashlar margins. The entrance door is centrally located on the ground floor, flanked by windows, while the first floor has a regular arrangement of windows. On the north gable, there is a single window to the left on the first floor. The east (rear) elevation has two ground floor windows grouped at the center, with a narrow window to the left and another above the center.

The roof is covered with modern purple-grey slate and has stugged sandstone apex stacks that are topped with circular cans and cement-rendered skew copes.

The boundary walls consist of a cement-rendered and lined wall along Commercial Street, topped with a concrete cope and a plain wrought-iron railing, which includes a matching gate on the right. There are also high random rubble garden walls, which are concrete-coped and feature stugged and droved dressings, extending to the west.
