Waltongrove, The Knowes, Kelso

Waltongrove is a picturesque villa built around the 1840s, featuring two storeys and a basement with a cross-plan layout. The north front has a two-storey, two-bay advanced wing at the center, which includes square hoodmoulds over the ground floor windows and chamfered margins at the upper floor. The roof is gabled, broad-eaved, and slated. The lower wings to the east and west also have chamfered angles and hood moulded windows. There is a later addition in the northwest angle. The entrance is located in the northeast angle and has a bracketed hood above it. The south front mirrors the north, featuring a similar design with a two-storey canted bay window at the advanced center wing.
