Description

The War Memorial in Stichill, built around 1920, features a central block made of cream sandstone, flanked by pilasters and topped with an open pediment that displays the dates 1914 and 1918. A granite plaque listing names is positioned below a lion-head fountain. The memorial is surrounded by dwarf walls constructed from snecked whinstone rubble, which have a sandstone base course and gablet coping. The structure is completed with sandstone terminal dies that have pyramidal copes.
