Description
The United Presbyterian Church in Stichill is a Gothic Revival church built in 1877, which has since been converted into a store. The building is constructed from snecked whinstone rubble with cream sandstone dressings. It has a rectangular shape with buttresses and a steeply pitched slated roof. The gable facing the road features pinnacled buttresses that create the appearance of a nave and aisles. The front of the church has geometric tracery, while the sides have lancet windows, all of which are fitted with diamond-paned leaded glass that is now in poor condition. The entrance has boarded doors adorned with ornate wrought-iron hinges. At the rear, there is a lower single-storey hall. The boundary wall is gablet-coped and built on a coursed rubble base.
