Kirk Cottage, Main Street, Kirk Yetholm

Kirk Cottage is a late 18th century house that has been remodeled in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is a two-storey, three-bay building with a symmetrical rectangular plan, forming part of an irregular terrace. The front features a wet dash finish, while the rear is harled, and the sides are built of rubble.

On the southeast elevation, which is the entrance side, there is a central doorway with a glazed door. Above this, there are single windows at the first floor and in the gablehead to the attic. The remaining bays also have single windows.

The northwest elevation, which is the rear, is harled white with black painted surrounds around the windows in each bay. The cottage has sash and case windows, with plate glass on the ground floor and 4-pane glazing elsewhere. The roof is covered with modern brown pantiles, and there are brick stacks at the gableheads.
