Description
Old Manse, located on Venchen Road in Town Yetholm, is an early 19th century, two-storey house featuring five bays, with an adjoining two-bay house to the east. The exterior is rendered and has raised painted surrounds around the openings, with panelled doors and letterbox fanlights.
On the south elevation, the five-bay house is symmetrical with a central doorway. Above this doorway is a bipartite window on the first floor, while single windows are found at the ground level in the bays to the left and right. There are also single windows on both floors in the outer left and right bays. The adjoining two-bay house has a doorway in the left bay and single windows at both the ground and first floors in the right bay.
The east elevation features a single window on the first floor and a garage door leading to a lean-to structure to the north. The north elevation has an advanced two-storey wing. The building is fitted with 8-pane sash and case windows and is topped with grey slate roofs at varying pitches, along with rendered and coped gable heads and mutual stacks.
