13-15 South Street, Duns

13-15 South Street in Duns is an early 19th-century, two-storey and attic, three-bay L-plan house that includes a shop on the ground floor. The building is constructed from harl-pointed sandstone with ashlar dressings. At the center, there is a Tuscan Doric pilastered doorpiece, with a corresponding pilastered three-bay shopfront to the right. This shopfront features a unified cornice, a panelled and glazed door, and a two-pane rectangular fanlight, flanked by large plate glass shop windows. Windows are also located to the left and in the upper bays.

The house has a pair of piend-roofed canted timber dormers, while the eastern gable is blank and harled. The rear elevation is irregular, with a projecting two-bay range to the right that adjoins a former tannery.

The windows are timber sash and case with 12 panes, while the dormers have plate glass. The roof is covered with grey slates, and features ashlar coped skews and brick stacks at the apex.
