Description
The Lodge at Law House in Coldingham is a gate lodge built in the later 19th century, featuring later additions and alterations. It is a symmetrical, single-storey structure with three bays and a gabled porch that projects at the center. The exterior is finished in coursed render, with overhanging eaves and decorative bargeboards. The windows have architraved timber surrounds.
On the entrance elevation, there is a single window with pointed-arched glazing located centrally in the projecting porch, and a timber door to the left. The outer bays on the left and right each have a single window with pointed-arched, timber bipartite glazing. The lodge also features horizontal-pane, pointed-arched glazing in timber casement windows. The roof is covered with grey slate and has coped apex stacks with octagonal cans.
The interior was not seen in 1999.
