Description

Mid 19th century with later additions and alterations. Single storey, bi-axial plan gate lodge with gabled porch in re-entrant angle to front. Whitewashed harl; cream sandstone dressings; tooled cream sandstone to porch. Narrow quoin strips; plain margins; painted cills.

SW (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: timber panelled door in crowstepped porch projecting at centre; blind plaque centred above; thistle-shaped finial surmounting gablehead. Single windows in bays recessed to outer left and right.

SE (SIDE) ELEVATION: projecting 2-light canted window centred at ground; single window aligned above.

NE (REAR) ELEVATION: W range with small-pane glazed door to right; single window to left. E range with small-pane glazed door and window to right; small window to left.

8- and 12-pane glazing timber sash and case windows; rooflights at rear. Grey slate roof with sandstone ridging; crowstepped skews; beak skewputts. Brick-built apex stacks; circular terracotta cans.

INTERIOR: not seen 1999.
