Description
The Lodge at the Mansion House Hotel on Blackfriars' Road in Elgin is a single-storey gate lodge built in the later 19th century, designed in an L-plan layout. It features a gabled porch at the re-entrant angle and is constructed from bull-faced rubble with ashlar dressings. The windows include mullion and transom designs, with a canted bay window on the south gable and canted gables on the west side, where windows are positioned in the angles. The original lattice-pane glazing has been replaced with single pane plate glass. The lodge is adorned with ornate barge boards, tall coped stacks, and has a tiled roof with tiled cresting.
