West Lodge, Archerfield

West Lodge at Archerfield is a single-storey gate lodge built in the mid-19th century, featuring a gabled T-plan with later additions. The exterior is constructed of squared rendered rubble with ashlar dressings, and the openings have chamfered arrises.

On the south elevation, there is a gabled porch located in the re-entrant angle, which includes a small light and an arrow slit in the gable, with a door on the west side. To the right, the gabled bay of the north-south arm has a timber mullioned bipartite window and an arrow slit above it.

The west elevation features a narrower gable on the east-west arm, which also has a bipartite window and an arrow slit similar to the other side. A lean-to porch has been added to the re-entrant angle on the left.

The windows are fitted with small plane and lying-pane glazing. The gablet skews are adorned with consoled skewputts, and there are two diamond stacks linked in the north re-entrant angle. The roofs are covered with slate.
