Description
The Lodge at Sandside House is a single-storey, three-bay gate lodge built in the later 19th century. It is constructed from coursed rubble with tooled dressings. The east front features a projecting canted centre porch that includes a central door flanked by single windows with lattice pane glazing and chamfered angles. The roof is piended and covered with slate, featuring deep eaves and gablets at the angles.
The entrance is marked by a pair of octagonal tooled ashlar gate piers topped with pyramidal caps. These are connected to similar end piers by low coped quadrants, which support cast-iron carriage gates.
