Description
D Miller's Cottage in Reay is an early to mid-19th century single-storey range of cottages that has been converted into one dwelling. The building features nine irregular bays and is constructed of whitewashed rubble with tooled rubble dressings. Near the center, there is a projecting gabled porch, and it includes four doorways, with one located in each end bay. A cheese press is built into the wall at the west end. The roof has a Caithness slate covering, with ridge and end stacks and an irregular ridge line.
Adjacent to the cottage is a steading range, also dating from the early to mid-19th century and constructed of whitewashed rubble. This single-storey structure has six irregular bays, which include a pair of former two-bay dwellings. It features three doorways and three small windows, along with ridge and end stacks, and a Welsh slate roof.
