The Old School House, Reston Primary School, Reston

The Old School House, located at Reston Primary School in Reston, dates from the early to earlier 19th century and has undergone later additions and alterations. This former school house is a two-storey building with three bays on the upper floor and five bays on the ground floor, featuring a piended porch at the center. The exterior is finished in whitewashed harl with painted dressings, while the northeast side has plain harl with rendered dressings. The building has narrow quoin strips, plain margins, and projecting cills.

On the southeast elevation, which serves as the entrance, there is a later projecting porch at the center that includes a timber door and a plate glass fanlight. Flanking the porch are narrow windows on the ground floor, with single windows in the outer left and right bays. Above, there are gabled dormerheads with single windows that break the eaves in three bays.

The southwest side elevation features a gable end with a single window located off-center to the left. The northeast side elevation also has a gable end, which includes a bipartite window at ground level on the right, along with a single window in a single-storey addition to the right.

The windows throughout the building are timber sash and case with 12-pane glazing. The roof is covered in grey slate with terracotta ridging, and it has stone-coped skews. The building also features coped and harled ridge and apex stacks, along with various circular cans.

The interior was not seen in 1999. The site is partially enclosed by boundary walls that are coped and harled.
