Description
This building, located at 8-10 East Port in Melrose, dates from around 1830. It is a two-storey structure with a three-bay front facing East Port, featuring a central door. The original windows are 12-pane double sashes, and the building is constructed from rubble with droved ashlar dressings. There is a segmental-bowed projection towards Scott's Place, and a blocked door with side-lights on the ground floor. The first floor has a tripartite window with dummy outer lights. The roof is piended and slated to the east, with a truncated stack at the west gable.
