Description

Well Cottage is a late 18th to early 19th century single-storey cottage that forms the end of a terrace, with later additions and alterations. It has a rectangular plan and features a single-storey addition at the rear that creates an L-shape, along with a single-storey, three-bay garage block attached to the left. The cottage is finished with whitewashed harl and has painted margins and projecting cills, while the adjoining garage block is made of whitewashed rubble.

On the northwest (entrance) elevation, there is a boarded timber door that is offset to the right of the center, with single windows in the flanking bays. The garage block to the left has two-leaf boarded timber garage doors offset to the right of the center and single windows in the flanking bays.

The southwest (side) elevation of the main house features a single window at ground level, offset to the left of the center. The single-storey addition to the right has a part-glazed boarded timber door on the left. The southeast (rear) elevation was not visible in 1998.

The cottage has 4-pane glazing in timber sash and case windows, while the garage block has 6-pane glazing. The cottage is topped with a grey slate roof that has raised skews, brick apex stacks, and a circular can on the southwest side. The rear addition and garage block have corrugated-iron roofs. The interior was not seen in 1998.
