Description
West Leitholm Bridge, dated around 1783, features a single-arched design that spans the Lambden Burn. The bridge has pointed rubble sandstone walls with squared coping and cream sandstone dressings. It displays recessed segmental arches on the outer elevations, with cream sandstone voussoirs and raised keystones, one of which is inscribed with 'AD 1783' on the southeast side, though it is weathered on the northwest side. Prominent sandstone corbels support the parapets above. There is a buttress on the northeast side, and the walls at either end are splayed, differing in length and extending to the south. Additionally, squat circular-plan piers are present.
