Description

Dated 1788. Single span road bridge with segmental-headed arch. Rubble with droved red sandstone dressings and rounded rubble coping. Narrow arch ring and partially remaining band course at base of parapet. Alternate (projecting) red sandstone voussoirs. 3 red sandstone pierced quatrefoil panels to centre of parapet to N side; one blocked quatrefoil panel to right. 2 pierced red sandstone quatrefoil panels to parapet (to left of arch) to S side; 3 blocked paritally remaining quatrefoil panels to centre. Said to be inscribed '1788' on stone at the end of the parapet.
