Description
Earlier to mid 19th century with later additions and alterations. Single storey, 3-bay originally T-plan gate lodge with single storey, flat-roofed addition to NE. Coursed and stugged cream sandstone; droved sandstone dressings. Raised base course; overhanging eaves; stop-chamfered angles. Droved margins; droved cills (projecting in part); columnar porch. Dry-dashed addition.
SE (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: boarded timber door centred at ground; projecting columnar porch with basket-arched openings, coped sandstone side walls. Timber-mullioned bipartite windows at ground in flanking bays.
SW (SIDE) ELEVATION: large single window centred in bay advanced to right; bipartite window centred in bay recessed to left.
NW (REAR) ELEVATION: single window centred in bay advanced at centre; blind elevation recessed to outer right; single windows in flat-roofed addition adjoined to left.
NE (SIDE) ELEVATION: bipartite window centred in original block; flat-roofed addition advanced to right.
Decorative leaded glazing to front casement windows; modern windows to remaining openings. Graded grey slate piended roof. Corniced sandstone central ridge stack; circular cans.
INTERIOR: not seen 1998.
GATEPIERS AND GATE: tooled rubble sandstone, circular-plan piers flanking entrance to SE; platformed conical caps; iron vehicular entrance gate.
