Description

Circa 1830 with later additions and alterations. Single storey, 3-bay, rectangular-plan gate lodge with single storey addition at rear forming near L-plan. Coursed and stugged cream sandstone; droved sandstone dressings. Quoin strips; margins. Harled rear addition.

S (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: 2-leaf timber panelled door centred at ground; plate glass fanlight; projecting surround with bracketed pentice porch. Single windows in bays flanking entrance.

W (SIDE) ELEVATION: original 2-bay block to right with single windows in both bays. Bipartite window in flat-roofed addition slightly recessed to left.

N (REAR) ELEVATION: flat-roofed projection to right with lean-to porch recessed to left; single window in original block recessed to outer left.

E (SIDE) ELEVATION: original 2-bay block to left with single windows in both bays. Flat-roofed addition recessed to right with lean-to porch in re-entrant angle to left.

12-pane glazing in timber sash and case windows. Grey slate piended and platformed roof. Stepped and corniced cream sandstone wallhead stacks to E and W; circular cans. Cast-iron rainwater goods.

INTERIOR: not seen 1998.
