East Lodge, Eccles House

East Lodge at Eccles House is an earlier 19th century gate lodge that has undergone later additions and alterations. It is a single-storey, three-bay rectangular building with a flat-roofed addition at the rear. The exterior features whitewashed harl with painted margins and overhanging timber bracketed eaves.

On the southwest elevation, which serves as the entrance, there is a modern timber panelled door in the centre, flanked by single windows in the adjacent bays. The southeast elevation shows the original house with a single window offset to the right of centre, alongside the flat-roofed addition on the right. The northeast elevation features a modern door and flanking windows in the flat-roofed addition. The northwest elevation has the original house with a bipartite window at the centre, while the flat-roofed addition is recessed to the outer left.

The windows are plate glass timber sash and case, and the roof is a grey slate piended design. A coped sandstone ridge stack is located at the centre, topped with a single can.

The interior was not seen in 1998.

Flanking the entrance are gatepiers made of circular-plan, coursed cream sandstone, which feature corniced circular caps topped with urn-shaped finials. The entrance is completed with modern two-leaf gates.
