Description
This building, located at 10-12 George Street in Paisley, dates from around 1840 and is a three-storey and attic, seven-bay symmetrical tenement block. The exterior is constructed of ashlar stone, with a channelled finish on the ground floor and a base course. It features an architraved doorpiece with a consoled cornice and a blocking course above. There is a door to the upper floors on the right side, replacing what would have been windows. A band runs between the ground and first floor windows, and the second floor has 12-pane glazing. The building has an eaves cornice and a blocking course, topped with a slate roof that includes skews, canted dormers, and corniced stacks.
At the rear, there is a three-storey, seven-bay wing made of rubble with ashlar margins. This section features long and short angle quoins and retains 12-pane glazing. It also has an eaves band and a piended slate roof with corniced stacks.
