Description
9 Orr Square in Paisley is a pair of early 19th century houses that are two stories high, with a basement and attic, and feature a symmetrical five-bay design. The houses are constructed of ashlar stone and have pilaster strips at the corners and between them. The doorways are highlighted by consoled doorpieces with architraves set in arched panels. Number 7 retains its original double-leaf panelled door, while both houses have later-installed two-pane sash windows throughout. They feature an eaves cornice and a blocking course, topped with a slate roof that has straight skews and corniced end and central stacks. The sides and rear are made of rubble, with dormers located at the rear. There are former coach houses, now used as garages, attached at angles to the main buildings.
