Description

  1. 2-storey with attic and basement, 3-bay, rectangular-plan house with single storey wing to rear. Squared sandstone rubble with stugged ashlar quoins and quoin strips. Deep base course. Raised margins to shouldered window openings.

W (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: symmetrical. Pilastered, corniced and block-pedimented doorpiece to centre bay at ground with deep-set panelled timber door and plate glass fanlight; windows in flanking bays, regular fenestration to 1st floor and canted dormer window over outer bays.

N AND S ELEVATIONS: gabled elevation with window to centre at each floor, that to 1st floor N blinded.

E (HATTON ROAD) ELEVATION: small piended bay with single window and door on return to right immediately to right of centre at ground, large stair window to centre above and windows to flanking bays at each floor.

12-pane glazing pattern in timber sash and case windows. Grey slates. Cavetto-coped ashlar stacks with polygonal cans.

INTERIOR: some decorative plasterwork cornices and staircase with decorative cast-iron railings (not seen 2002).

BOUNDARY WALLS: semicircular-coped rubble boundary walls with pedestrian gate to W.
