43 Princes Street, Perth

43 Princes Street is a two-storey, three-bay villa built around 1830 in the 'cottage orne' style. It is situated down a lane on the west side of Princes Street, directly across from St John the Baptist Episcopal Church. The villa features stugged ashlar stonework with raised cills and a base course.

The principal (south) elevation includes a recessed porch at the center supported by paired octagonal proto-Doric columns. The entrance has a timber panelled door flanked by scrolled pilasters and margin lights, with round-arched niches on the porch walls and a bipartite window above. To the right, there is a semi-octagonal bay with windows on each face, a band course separating the floors, and a projecting timber eaves cornice. To the left, a slightly advanced gable features bipartite windows.

The roof is covered with grey slate, and there are end stacks with clay cans. The building has cast-iron rainwater goods. The low front garden is enclosed by boundary walls, with a wrought iron gate at the center, flanked by coped ashlar gatepiers and topped with a scrolled wrought iron lamp holder.
