Description
Mid 19th century. 2-storey, 3-bay L-plan plain symmetrical house built on ground rising to E. Re-pointed squared, snecked and coursed rubble with ashlar sandstone dressings. Base course. Long and short margins to windows; long and short quoins.
W (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: bracketed cornice over moulded architraved doorpiece at ground in bay to centre; window at 1st floor above. Window at each floor in each bay flanking.
S (SIDE) ELEVATION: single gabled bay to main block to left; slightly recessed single bay projection to centre; further recessed lean-to bay to right. Window, set to left at each floor in bay to left; gablehead stack above. Window at each floor in bay to centre; window to lean to to right.
N (SIDE) ELEVATION: window, set to left at 1st floor; gablehead stack above.
E (REAR) ELEVATION: window to single storey lean-to in re-entrant angle to centre. 2-bay gabled projection to left: single storey lean-to in bay to left; window in bay to right; gablehead stack above.
12-pane timber sash and case windows. Purple slate roof; stone ridge; stone skews; corniced rubble stacks to N and S gables; predominantly replacement uPVC rainwater goods.
INTERIOR: not seen, 1998.
BOUNDARY WALLS AND RAILINGS: low rubble walls with ridged cope to W and S elevations; fleur-de-lys-headed cast-iron railings; full-height rubble wall enclosing rectangular-plan garden to rear (E); lean-to rubble shed along E boundary; boarded entrance gate along S boundary.
