Description

18h century with later alterations. 2-storey and attic, 5-bay (6-bay at ground) rectangular-plan crowstepped gabled small terrace comprising 2 dwellings converted as shops at ground; 2-bay house to left (Number 22 and 24) 3-bay house to right, (Number 26). Cement-rendered and lined at ground; harled above.

W (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: bays grouped 2-3. 2-bay group to left: 2 modern timber panelled doors, set close, with letterbox fanlights at ground in bay to right; window at 1st floor above. Enlarged shop window at ground in bay to left; window at 1st floor above. 3-bay group to right: deep-set architraved small-pane door at ground in bay to centre; window at 1st floor above. Enlarged window at ground in bay to right; window at 1st floor above. Window at each floor in bay to right.

N (SIDE) ELEVATION: Numbers 16-20 (not listed) abutting to left of centre. Window at each floor in bay to right; attic window; gablehead stack.

S (SIDE) ELEVATION: blank with blocked attic window to left of gable; gablehead stack.

Modern shop windows at ground to Numbers 22 and 24; timber-framed windows with top-hung upper lights elsewhere. Grey slate roof; stone ridge; harled, corniced gablehead and ridge stacks; uPVC rainwater goods.

INTERIOR: converted as shops at ground; unseen above, 1998.
