Manse, Torbeg, Shiskine, Arran

The Manse in Torbeg, Shiskine, Arran, is an earlier 19th-century building that originally served as a manse. It is a two-storey, three-bay structure with a rectangular plan and features a single-storey pentice-roofed bay at the rear. The exterior is made of rough cast red sandstone rubble, with an earlier harl finish on the rear elevation, and is adorned with tooled and painted ashlar dressings. The roof is slate-covered. The building includes a base course, margined angles, an eaves course, and ashlar-coped skews with coped end stacks and uniform cream cans. The windows are margined and feature 12-pane timber sash and case frames.

On the front elevation, there is a panelled door with an astragalled fanlight at the centre, framed by a corniced and pilastered doorpiece. To the left and right of the door, there are windows, and three additional windows are located on the first floor. There is also a window on the right return gable.

The rear elevation includes a pentice-roofed bay on the left side, which has two doors and windows, along with a window on the right that has a modern out-of-character frame. A small stair window is located at the centre of the first floor, with additional windows to the left and right.
