Description
The Walled Garden at Dougarie Lodge, built in 1909, is a large rectangular-plan structure featuring three terraces. The rear terrace contains a brick-walled vegetable garden, while the two front terraces are designed as pleasure gardens with granite rubble walls, intentionally mimicking the ruinous castellated style of The Towers, which includes stables and kennels.
The front elevation showcases a pointed-arch entrance at the center, topped with a corbelled parapet. This entrance is flanked by crenellated round towers, and the walls on the left and right are battered and corbelled out to a contrived ruinous parapet, which also features round angle towers at both ends.
