Description
Victoria Lodge is a late 19th century, single storey and attic villa designed in the Arts and Crafts style, located in Blackwaterfoot, Arran. The building is constructed from cream rubble sandstone with red ashlar dressings and features a grey slate roof with piended and gabled sections, adorned with terracotta ridge tiles and ball finials. The original windows are timber sash and case, with single or two-pane designs at the bottom and multi-pane designs at the top, complemented by chamfered and quoined jambs and mullions. The eaves are bracketted, the gables have plain bargeboards, and cast-iron rainwater goods are present.
On the front elevation, there is a two-leaf boarded door located in the second bay from the left, which has a multi-pane fanlight and a round-headed chamfered doorcase. Above this door is a dormer-headed window with an adjoining wallhead stack. To the left of the door are paired narrow windows, while to the right is a single window, and at the far right is a bipartite window with a corbelled gable and a bipartite window above it.
The left return elevation features the principal gable on the right, with a door to the right and a bipartite projecting window to the left that has a pentice roof extending to a verandah-type porch on the right. Above this porch is a bipartite window. There is also a window in the bay on the left and a small bipartite window in the lower bay at the far left. The interior has not been seen.
