44 Princes Street, Ardrossan

44 Princes Street in Ardrossan is a two-storey, four-bay building facing Princes Street and a three-bay section on Harbour Street, constructed in 1858. The exterior is finished in painted stucco. On Princes Street, there is a later door with a segmental pediment above it, modern windows on the ground floor, and an original cornice above. The first-floor windows have a cill course and are architraved, with the two outer windows featuring triangular pediments and the inner window having a segmental pediment. Above this is a cornice topped with a panelled parapet that has decorative mouldings.

At the corner, there is a curved rusticated angle with a clock set in a moulded frame above the parapet. On Harbour Street, the building maintains a two-storey, three-bay structure. The door is recessed within deeply rusticated cavetto moulded reveals, featuring a round-headed design with a keystone, flanked by rusticated pilasters that support a dentil cornice. The remaining architectural details are consistent with those on Princes Street.

Adjoining this building is No. 5, which is also two storeys and three bays. It features painted ashlar with rusticated quoins, a central door with architraves and an entablature, and all windows are architraved with a cill course on the first floor. Above this, the roof design is not specified.
