Description
41, 43, and 45 Princes Street in Ardrossan is an early 19th-century building, part of the original layout designed for Lord Eglinton by the architect Peter Nicholson in 1806. The structure has two storeys, with some sections featuring later attics. The buildings at 41-45 and 63-67 consist of four bays, while those at 47-57 have three bays. The exterior is finished in painted ashlar, with 53-57 covered in pebbledash. Notable features include a pilastered doorpiece at number 49 and a pair of similar doorpieces at 63-67, although the ground floors have been modernized. Some windows are adorned with architraves, and there are pilasters between the blocks that have fluted capitals. The cornice includes a blocking course, and the roof is slate, with a piended design at the ends of the terraces.
