53, 55, and 57 Princes Street in Ardrossan is an early 19th-century building that forms part of the original layout designed for Lord Eglinton by the architect Peter Nicholson in 1806. The structure has two storeys, with some sections featuring later attics. The buildings at 41-45 and 63-67 consist of four bays, while those at 47-57 have three bays. The exterior is finished in painted ashlar, with 53-57 covered in pebbledash. Notable features include a pilastered doorpiece at 49 and a pair of similar doorpieces at 63-67, although the ground floors have been modernized. Some windows are adorned with architraves, and there are pilasters between the blocks that have fluted capitals. The cornice is topped with a blocking course, and the roof is slate, with piended ends at the terraces.
