Clyde Estuary Hotel, 78 Princes Street, Ardrossan

The Clyde Estuary Hotel, located at 78 Princes Street in Ardrossan, is a mid-19th century building featuring two storeys and an attic. The facade has three bays facing Princes Street and five bays on Bute Street, constructed from painted ashlar. The ground floor is pilastered and includes a modern door on Princes Street, while there is an original pilastered doorpiece on Bute Street. Above the ground floor, there is a cornice, and a cill course marks the first floor, where all windows facing Princes Street have architraves, while those on Bute Street have margins. The building is topped with a main cornice and a parapet, which is adorned with an iron balustrade in front of two canted, piended dormers. The roof is hipped and covered with slate.
