Description
The Lyric Theatre, located at 59-61 Princes Street in Ardrossan, was built in 1914. It is a two-storey building featuring two bays facing Princes Street and three bays on Hill Street, constructed of painted ashlar. On Princes Street, there is a pilastered double door with flanking windows, and the Art Deco floor includes architraves, aprons, and scrolled and bracketed heads. The building has a cornice and a blocking course raised over the windows. The details on Hill Street are similar to those on Princes Street. The theatre has a piended slate roof with one modern dormer.
