Bank, 76 Princes Street, Ardrossan

The building at 76 Princes Street in Ardrossan is a mid-19th century bank that stands three storeys tall. It features two bays facing Princes Street and five bays on Bute Street. The exterior is finished in painted stucco and is adorned with channelled pilasters.

On Princes Street, there is a round-headed door flanked by Roman Doric columns in antis and outer channelled piers to the right. Above the door, there is a cornice with a band course. Each floor has a single light above the door and a bipartite window to the left. The first floor is decorated with cornices and pediments, with the pediments having brackets over the central light of the tripartite window. The main cornice serves as a blocking course and is topped with a parapet that features central urn finials. The architectural details on Bute Street are similar to those on Princes Street.
