Description

49 Kirkgate in Irvine is a late 18th century mid-terrace house that has undergone some alterations. It is two storeys high with an attic and features two bays. The exterior is harled and painted.

The northeast elevation, which is the principal side, has an asymmetrical design with irregularly placed windows. There is a pilastered and corniced door on the right, with a window to the left. To the left, there is a bay that includes windows on both the ground and first floors.

The house has 12-pane timber sash and case windows, a roof covered with dark grey slates, and a brick stack located on the right side of the party wall with No 51. The roof also features piend-roofed dormers.
