Description
The stable at Arran Heritage Museum in Rosaburn, Brodick, dates from the mid-19th century. It is a large, single-storey building with an attic, featuring a rectangular plan. The exterior is constructed of coursed red sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings and has a slate platform roof. The stable includes boarded doors and boarded-up windows, along with various single and grouped rooflights. A prominent feature is the large gabled hayloft door, which is accessed by a modern steel forestair. Inside, there are timber trevises and metal hecks, and the attic has been converted into a workshop.
