Description

The stables, dated 1845 with a possible earlier core, are L-shaped and constructed from red sandstone rubble with yellow sandstone detailing and quoins, topped with a slate roof. The main elevation faces the courtyard and is two storeys high, featuring a cupola and weather vane, along with evidence of various building phases. The ground floor has small-pane windows with brick voussoirs, two stable doors, and two large arched doors leading to the adjoining coach house. The left-hand return elevation consists of a long single-storey range with a slate roof that includes ventilation cowls and two wooden stable doors. Inside, the stables retain 19th-century roof trusses and stalls.
