Description
St Peter-In-Chains Roman Catholic Church, located on South Crescent Road in Ardrossan, was built in 1938 by the architects Gillespie, Kidd and Coia. This church features a long aisled nave with a tower positioned at the southeast corner. The exterior is constructed of multi-hued brick and topped with a tiled roof. The plain south end includes a pointed doorway with decorative brickwork above, flanked by two very small windows. The tower is capped with a copper turret. Inside, the church boasts a spacious interior supported by brick piers, a plastered ceiling, a gallery at the south end, and a sanctuary at the north end.
