Description
The Church of St Paul, built in 1958 by Gillespie Kidd and Coia, is located at 1651 Shettleston Road in Glasgow. This church features a red-brown facing brick exterior and has a gable end facing the street. A prominent open tower, which houses a large rood created by Jack Mortimer, is situated above the entrance. The entrance is canopied and includes large oak doors adorned with crosses.
On either side of the tower, there are single-storey set-back wings that contain a shop and a baptistry. The main body of the church is rectangular and topped with a low-pitched copper roof, which is illuminated on both sides by seven long rectangular windows. To the west, there is a low single-storey sacristy and an additional single-storey extension. The interior was not seen during the last inspection in 1991.
