Description
Mrs Johnstone, Thatched Cottage, located in Bualadubh, Eochar, South Uist, is probably from the 19th century and is a Skye-type thatched cottage. It is a single-storey building with a three-bay east front featuring a central door. There is one window at the rear and one on each of the short walls. The cottage is constructed of painted rubble with thick walls, and the angles are either squared or curved. It has end stacks and a muran thatch roof that is secured with ropes, netting, and stone weights.
