Description
The Shieling by the Bay is a single-storey, three-bay cottage built in 1908, designed in the Skye-type style with a central door. It features rubble-built walls that are slightly battered with curved angles. There is a single window in the center of the west elevation and end chimney stacks. The roof is thatched with marram grass, secured with ropes and stone weights.
After 2003, the cottage was renovated to serve as holiday accommodation. Additionally, a stone outbuilding with a thatched roof was constructed to the north after 2005.
