Presbytery, St Michael's Chruch, Ardkenneth, South Uist

St Michael's Church in Ardkenneth, South Uist, was built between 1826 and 1829. It features a church and a two-storey, three-bay presbytery, all under one long roof with a rectangular plan and harled exterior. The church has three bays with tall, depressed-arched windows that have small panes and intersecting tracery on the north side, while the south side has modern glazing. There is a gabled porch on the west side and a cross finial on the roof, which is covered in slate.

Inside the church, there is a triple-arched east end supported by two tall, bulbous columns. A small-scale replica of Hew Lorimer's statue is located to the north of the church.

The presbytery features a central gabled porch on the north side, plate glass sash windows, and a modern kitchen addition on the south side. There is a stack at the gable. The property is partly enclosed by rubble-built walls, with corniced square gatepiers to the north that have pyramidal caps, also made of rubble.
