Description
1 Aird Cumhang is a small thatched crofthouse located in Hacklet on the Isle of Benbecula, built in the late 19th or early 20th century. The building is single-storey with a three-bay east front featuring a central entrance that has a timber gate. There is a single window in the center of the west wall. The structure is constructed from rubble with slightly battered walls and squared angles. A chimney stack is positioned on the northeast gable. The roof retains remnants of marram thatch, which is supported by a turf underlay, along with netting and stone weights.
