Description
Thatched Cottage in Stilligarry, South Uist, is probably from the 19th century and is a Skye-type thatched cottage. It is a single-storey building with a three-bay east front featuring a central door and a single window facing west. The walls are made of limewashed rubble with squared angles. The cottage has end stacks and a muran thatch roof, which is secured with netting, ropes, and iron weights, mostly consisting of cart axles and shafts.
