Horsacleit, Harris

Horsacleit is a hunting and fishing lodge located in Harris, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. The building features a modified loch at the front, which is dammed with concrete. It is constructed from horizontally-boarded timber and has a corrugated iron roof, with 6-pane glazing that includes top hoppers.

The lodge consists of two parts: a narrow, gabled, two-storey section on the right, which has a rear forestair and a stack on the end wall, likely used for bedroom accommodation. The longer, lower section has a main roof that sweeps over a partly-enclosed front verandah, where hooks on the inside wall are presumably for resting fishing rods. Inside, there is a large room designed for socialising and entertainment, along with a ridge stack and a rear outshot. Additionally, there is a free-standing gabled shed to the north, built in a similar style.
