Garden Walls And Gate Piers, The Deanery, 62 Clifton Road, Lossiemouth

The Garden Walls and Gate Piers at The Deanery, 62 Clifton Road, Lossiemouth, date from between 1790 and 1800. This is a two-storey and attic house with a south-facing three-bay front. The exterior is harled with tooled ashlar margins. The central entrance features a panelled door, and there are two later canted wallhead dormers at both the front and rear, which have modern two-pane glazing. The building has a deep eaves band and flat skews with run-off skewputts. The coped end panelled stacks are topped with a narrow pulvinated string course below the cope, and the roof is slate.

There is a single-storey rear wing and a late flat-roof garage at the east gable. The garden is enclosed by coped rubble walls. The gate piers consist of a pair of tall square tooled ashlar structures topped with ball finials.
